Silver Lake Staff 2012
2012 Staff will embody the Silver Lake mission with a prayerful, creative approach that strives for ongoing excellence, with a heapin' load of fun. Following God's lead, staff will form a vibrant Christ-centred community that gives their very best to campers.
As we build on great summers past, some traditions will remain, some will change, and some will be replaced with new visions and ideas. Along the way, there will be an ongoing emphasis on being authentic and growing Christ-followers. Through Christ, the soil of Silver Lake is rich and ready for a summer full of beauty, wonder, and life-changing results.
Minimum requirements:
• passion for working with children and youth in a Christ-centred environment
• Age 17 by the end of 2012
• (over 18) Police Records Check with Screening for Vulnerable Sector
• (age 17) Police Records Check or Voluntary Disclosure Form

INTERVIEW DATES: Mar. 3 (returning staff), Mar. 10 (new staff). Interviews will take place at Calvary United Church in St. Jacobs.

2012 Staff Positions

As we work with applicants, combination roles and specialized roles may develop. All positions include one week of staff training (starting June 25th) and eight weeks of camps. Roles noted as "Head" include an additional "Heads" week (starting June 18th). Staff are finished on August 27th. Additional terms of employment are reviewed in the hiring process.
ADMINISTRATOR (Head) - Set a great tone with the "outside camp" world while managing registration, communication and office details.
COUNSELLOR - Supervise, lead and serve campers in daily activities, cabins, and ongoing adventures.
KITCHEN: HEAD COOK (Head) - Set the tone in the kitchen, order food, head up meals, lead the kitchen team, and support program.
KITCHEN: ASSISTANT HEAD COOK - Support the Head Cook, give kitchen leadership, and support program.
KITCHEN: HELPER - Work on meals, support the kitchen team, and support program.
MAINTENANCE (Head) - Head up efforts to keep the site purring like a cat and support program.
PROGRAM CO-ORDINATOR (Head) - Plan and implement unique and awesome programs for various main site camps.
RAINBOW COORDINATOR (Head) - Supervise the Rainbow (special needs) program at Silver Lake.
WATERFRONT: HEAD LIFEGUARD (Head) - Supervise all waterfront activities and give significant program support.
WATERFRONT: ASSISTANT LIFEGUARD - Work with the Head Guard on all waterfront activities and give significant program support.
WILDERNESS STAFF - Work with the Wilderness team to implement a superb Wilderness program.
